These Terms of Use (the "Terms") govern your use of the Worena mobile app and related services (the "Service"). By using the Service or by accepting these Terms when you create an account, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Parties and definitions
- We / us: the provider of the Service, Mustafa Ali Erdoğan, a natural person (Güneşli Mh., İstanbul 34212, Türkiye; e-mail: syzitech@gmail.com).
- You / User: a person who uses the Service with a registered account or as a guest.
- Virtual Items: coins, jokers, badges, cosmetic items and similar digital content that can be earned in the Service.
- Community rules: the rules of conduct in section 7, which form an integral part of these Terms.
How we process personal data is described in the Privacy Policy. We also provide Kelimetrik, a Turkish-language word game, under separate terms; a Worena account is separate from any Kelimetrik account, and Worena players only play and interact with other Worena players.
2. Account, age requirement and account security
- You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service. You must state your age group truthfully before creating an account. Additional chat and visibility protections apply to users aged 16–17.
- A registered account is created through Sign in with Google. You are responsible for the security of the Google account you sign in with; if you notice unauthorised activity, sign out other sessions in Settings › Sessions and devices and let us know.
- Your account is personal. You may not transfer, sell, rent or share it.
- Your username and display name must comply with the community rules; we may change or remove names that impersonate others or are insulting or misleading.
3. Guest use
You can play practice games against the bot as a guest without creating an account. Chat, friends, matchmaking with other players, leagues and similar features are not available to guests. Guest data is deleted 30 days after the last activity. When you upgrade a guest account to a registered account, your practice history is kept.
4. The Service and game rules
- The Service includes English word games played with the letters A–Z (Classic, Blitz, 7 Rounds and other modes), matchmaking, games with friends and 2–4 player games, chat, leagues, leaderboards, missions and achievements. The game rules are explained in the app.
- Whether a word is valid is decided by our server according to the dictionary version used by the Service (section 12). You can appeal a rejected word in the app; accepted appeals apply from the next dictionary update and do not change the result of finished games.
- In timed games, the game is settled according to the rules when time runs out or when you leave.
- An internet connection is required. We are not responsible for time lost due to interruptions in your connection.
5. Fair play
The following are prohibited:
- Using bots, automation, scripts or a modified app; decompiling or modifying the app or interfering with its traffic.
- Using anagram solvers, word finders or other external tools that suggest moves during a game (the app's own jokers are allowed).
- Opening multiple accounts to play your own accounts against each other, or using additional accounts to gain league, leaderboard, mission or reward advantages.
- Agreeing results with other players, deliberately resigning or transferring points (collusion, league or mission farming).
- Exploiting bugs for your own benefit; if you find a bug, please report it.
- Manipulating the reward or coin systems.
- Using someone else's account or letting someone else use yours.
We use automated signals to detect fraud and cheating. These signals alone do not lead to an account being closed; enforcement decisions are made after review. We may reverse points, rankings, coins and rewards found to have been obtained unfairly.
6. User content and chat
- You are responsible for content such as your username, display name, bio, profile photo, chat messages, word appeals, reports and support requests ("User Content"). User Content must comply with the community rules and the law.
- You keep your rights in your User Content. So that we can provide the Service, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free permission to use User Content to operate the Service, display it to the intended recipients, store and moderate it and meet legal obligations, for the retention periods set out in the Privacy Policy.
- Links cannot be shared in chat; contact details may be masked or the message rejected. Messages are not end-to-end encrypted; they pass through our servers for safety and moderation.
- We may remove or restrict content that breaks the rules without notice. You can report and block other users in the app.
7. Community rules
We want Worena to be a place where everyone can enjoy playing with words. In short: be respectful, play fair, keep personal information private and never harass anyone. These rules apply to everything in Worena, including game chat, private messages, usernames, display names, bios, avatars and profile photos, and word appeals.
- Respect: do not mock others when you win or insult them when you lose. Criticise the game, not the person.
- Harassment, bullying and threats: do not humiliate, repeatedly bother, intimidate or threaten anyone. If someone has blocked you or turned off chat, do not try to reach them in other ways. Calls for violence and threats to harm yourself or others are strictly prohibited.
- Hate speech and discrimination: do not demean, target or exclude anyone because of race, ethnic origin, religion, language, sex, sexual orientation, disability, age or similar characteristics.
- Sexual content and the safety of minors: do not share sexual messages, names or images. Users aged 16–17 also play Worena: sexual communication with a minor, asking a minor for personal information or a meeting, or any behaviour aimed at abusing their trust is met with zero tolerance; the account is closed permanently and reported to the competent authorities.
- Personal information: do not share phone numbers, e-mail or postal addresses, school or workplace, social media accounts or similar information, about yourself or anyone else, and do not ask others for it. Links cannot be shared in chat and contact details are masked automatically or the message is not sent. Do not spread other people's private information or screenshots without permission.
- Spam, scams and advertising: do not send the same message over and over or advertise other apps or services. Do not try to deceive anyone with promises of coins, accounts or rewards; the Worena team will never ask you for your sign-in details or payment.
- Cheating: see section 5.
- Names and profiles: your username, display name, bio, avatar and profile photo must not contain insults, hate, sexual content, impersonation of others (including the Worena team), advertising or personal information. We may change names and remove profile content that breaks these rules.
- Self-harm: do not share content that encourages or glorifies self-harm. If you are worried about yourself or someone else, you are not alone: in an emergency, contact your local emergency services. If you see such a message, report it; our team reviews it with priority.
Reporting and blocking:
- Report: use "Report" in the menu of a message or profile. So the report can be reviewed, the reported message and a few messages around it are kept as evidence. You can see the status of your reports in Settings › My reports. The reported person is never told who reported them; the reporter is only told the general outcome (for example, "reviewed, action taken").
- Block from chat: the person cannot send you private messages or write in game chats you share.
- Block: the person cannot find you, see your profile, message you or invite you, and you do not meet each other in matchmaking.
- Chat settings: in Settings › Chats and invites you can choose who can message and invite you, or turn off all chats.
Breaches of these rules are handled under section 10.
8. Virtual Items
- Coins, jokers, badges and other Virtual Items are earned through gameplay, for example as mission, achievement or league rewards. Worena currently does not sell Virtual Items.
- Virtual Items are a limited, personal, non-transferable and revocable licence to use them within the Service. You do not acquire ownership of Virtual Items.
- Virtual Items have no monetary value, cannot be exchanged for real money, goods or services and cannot be transferred, sold or gifted to another account.
- Virtual Items are tied to your account. When your account is deleted or permanently closed for a serious breach of these Terms, remaining Virtual Items are lost.
- We may change how Virtual Items are earned and used, and we may correct Virtual Items granted incorrectly because of a technical error.
9. No ads and no in-app purchases
Worena is free to play. It currently shows no ads and offers no in-app purchases or subscriptions. If we introduce ads or paid items in the future, we will update these Terms and the Privacy Policy beforehand, and any purchase will show its price and conditions before you pay.
10. Enforcement, reports and appeals
If you breach these Terms, including the community rules, depending on the seriousness of the breach we may take one or more of the following measures: a warning, removal of content, changing your username, temporary chat restriction, exclusion from ranked games, leagues or rewards, reversal of unfair gains, temporary suspension of the account and permanent closure of the account. Serious breaches (e.g. conduct that threatens the safety of minors, severe harassment, fraud) may lead directly to permanent closure and, where necessary, a report to the competent authorities. Enforcement decisions are made after review by a person, even when automated signals are used.
An enforcement notice states the reason category and how to appeal. You can appeal in the app (Settings › Help and support) or at syzitech@gmail.com; appeals are reviewed by an authorised person and you are informed of the outcome. To prevent permanently closed accounts from being re-opened, the one-way hashes described in the Privacy Policy are kept for 2 years.
10.1 Reporting illegal content
Anyone, including people without a Worena account, can tell us about content in the Service that they consider illegal by e-mailing syzitech@gmail.com with the subject "Illegal content report"; users can also use "Report" in the app. So that we can act on it, please include: why you consider the content illegal; where it is (for example, the username and the date and time of the message); your name and e-mail address, unless the report concerns child sexual abuse material; and a statement that you believe in good faith that the information in your report is accurate and complete. We confirm receipt, review the report in a timely, diligent and objective manner and tell you our decision and how it can be challenged.
10.2 Reasons for our decisions and your options
When we remove or restrict your content or account, we tell you, unless the law or the safety of others prevents it, which rule or law the decision is based on, the facts and circumstances, whether automated means were used to detect the content and how you can appeal. You can appeal as described above. You can also take the matter to the competent courts or authorities; nothing in these Terms limits your rights under the EU Digital Services Act, the UK Online Safety Act or other mandatory law.
11. Intellectual property
- The software, design, game graphics, logo, texts and other content of the Service belong to Mustafa Ali Erdoğan or Mustafa Ali Erdoğan's licensors. You are granted only a limited, non-transferable right to use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms.
- Copying, reproducing, distributing or reverse engineering the Service or its content, or bulk-extracting dictionary or game data, is prohibited.
- The word list and word meanings are based on the open sources listed in section 12; those sources remain subject to their own licences. Worena is not affiliated with, sponsored or endorsed by the authors of these sources.
- Open-source components and fonts used in the app are subject to their own licences (Settings › Open source licenses).

13. Changes to and interruptions of the Service
We may change features, game modes and rewards to improve the Service, and may temporarily suspend the Service for maintenance or security reasons. If we decide to discontinue the Service entirely, we will announce this in the app at least 30 days in advance.
14. Limitation of liability
- The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, that every word will be in the dictionary or that every word meaning is complete or accurate.
- We are not responsible for the conduct or content of other users, except where we were aware of it and failed to take reasonable measures.
- To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect damages, loss of profit or data, or damage arising from the loss of in-game rankings, points or Virtual Items.
- This section does not apply to damage caused by our intent or gross negligence, to violations of personality rights, or to our liability under mandatory law, including consumer protection law that applies to you.
15. Termination and account deletion
- You can delete your account at any time in the app via Profile › Settings › Delete account or through the account deletion page. Deletion takes effect 14 days after your request; you can open the app and cancel during that time.
- When you request deletion your active games end as abandoned and your opponents win; these games do not come back even if you cancel the deletion. Remaining Virtual Items are lost.
- Which data is deleted and which is kept separated from your identity is described in section 13 of the Privacy Policy.
- If you breach these Terms we may suspend or close your account under section 10.
16. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms when the Service or the law changes. Each version is published with a date. We will notify you in the app of significant changes before they take effect and ask for your acceptance; if you do not accept, you can delete your account. Changes in your favour or required by law may take effect immediately.
17. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye. If you are a consumer, this choice of law does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory consumer protection rules of your country of residence, and any right you have under those rules to bring a claim in the courts where you live is not affected. For disputes that are not consumer disputes, the Courts and Enforcement Offices of İstanbul have jurisdiction.
18. Other provisions
- If any provision of these Terms is held invalid, the remaining provisions remain in effect.
- Our failure to exercise a right does not mean we waive it.
- Notices to you may be given in the app or to the e-mail address registered to your account.
